Who We Are
Senior Citizens Engaging in Music!
The Roswell New Horizons Band is a 501(3)(c) not-for-profit volunteer community band. Our mission as a community band is to provide a musical outlet for senior citizens, whether they played an instrument before or not. We are affiliated with the New Horizons International Music Organization.
We play for the fun of it! There is a Roswell New Horizons musical group among our six different bands that can meet your musical interests!
Most of our players played in high school or college bands or armed services bands. Many majored or minored in music. Most -- but not all -- of our members are retirees.
Our members receive no payment. All members pay modest membership dues to cover the band’s regular expenses, such as music director compensation and the purchase of music, equipment, and band shirts.
Performances generate additional out-of-pocket expenses for which the band requests a contribution from the performance venue. The amount can vary from situation to situation, but is always a small percentage of the amount charged by comparable commercial bands.
